Product Details

One of the striking characteristics of Peru's financial market is its high level of concentration. In banking, four entities account for over 80% of loans and deposits. In insurance, just two companies account for about 60% of premiums. Although new players have entered the market in recent years, they did not aim to compete directly with the large entities, but focused only on certain market niches. This process is increasing levels of competition in certain segments of the Peruvian financial system, but is not enough to significantly reduce the high degree of overall concentration.
