A massive privatization and concessions program under Brazil’s new president, Jair Bolsonaro, aims to raise hundreds of billions of dollars in tenders and improve the country’s infrastructure with some US$90bn in investment. A successful round of airport tenders in March 2019 launched the ambitious program and raised some US$600mn, but there are still regulatory and political obstacles to overcome.
